Hand Rankings
There are different poker hands combinations. Below we have listed the hand rankings from the strongest to the weakest.
Royal Flush
Royal Flush or Royal Straight Flush is the best poker hand. It features five consecutive cards of the same suit valued from 10 through to Ace.
Straight Flush
After the Royal Flush is the Straight Flush. It consists of five cards in a row in the same suit, like 5-6-7-8-9 of hearts. If two players have a straight flush, the player with the highest card wins.
Four of a Kind
Four of a kind, also known as quads, features four cards of the same value: four queens, aces, or eights. If there are two players with quads, the player with the highest value wins. If four of a kind are to be dealt on the board, the player with the highest fifth card wins as the game dictates the hands to have five cards. If both players have the card value as the fifth card, then the pot is split between the two.
Full House
A full house consists of two sets of cards, one with three of the same value and another with two cards of the same value. For example, 6-6-6 and 2-2. Suppose more than one player has a full house, the player with the highest three-of-a-kind wins.
Flush
Flush consists of five cards of the same suit, for example, all hearts or spades. If two or more gamers have a flush simultaneously, the player with the highest card in that flush will win, meaning an ace would give the player the Nut Flush.
Straight
A straight hand consists of five consecutive cards, such as 4-5-6-7-8 in different suits. The one with the highest cards wins if two gamers have a straight.
Three of a Kind
Three-of-a-kind is when you hold cards of the same value. If two players have three of a kind, it comes down to the highest card value.
Two Pair Hands
This hand consists of two pairs, one pair of one value and another pair of another, like 6-6 and 7-7. The player with the highest top pair wins if two or more gamers have two pairs.
Pair
This consists of two cards of the same value or rank. If two gamers have the same pair, such as aces, the value of the other three cards decides the winner.
High Card
The high card hand is when you have missed the board completely and don’t even have a pair. If two or more gamers have high cards, the one with the highest card wins.
